FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Police said they arrested a man wanted in connection to the shooting death of a 19-year-old woman at the Rodeway Inn earlier this month.

Angel May Carter, 19, was shot and killed on Aug. 9. Officers got a tip about a woman lying outside of a room, and once on scene, medics declared her dead at the scene.

Detectives consider 40-year-old Thomas Jermaine Jackson, who was possibly in an adjacent room, a person of interest.

He has been on the lam ever since, and Fort Wayne Police considered him armed and dangerous.

Thursday evening, a public information officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department said they took Jackson into custody.

The officer couldn't disclose what charges Jackson is being held for, but did say they are in connection with Carter's death.
