Auto dealer Bob Rohrman has died

(WPTA21) - Well-known auto dealer and businessman Bob Rohrman has died.

He was 87.

Rohrman's automotive roots are in Lafayette and date to the 1950s, but over the years, his reach expanded all across Indiana.

In 2019, Purdue University announced they would name their football stadium "Rohrman Field at Ross-Ade Stadium" following a $15 million gift from Rohrman.

Rohrman is a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash Award and has been recognized by numerous organizations for his philanthropy.

His auto dealership empire includes properties such as Bob Rohrman Fort Wayne Toyota and Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne.

"Not only has Mr. Rohrman been a great mentor to me and many other people, he has been an important part of our community for many years. He has encouraged us to give back to the community and make an impact every day," Gene Davis, General Manager of Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne said.
