State Health officials report 13 new COVID-19 deaths; 871 new infections

INDIANA (WPTA21) - The Indiana State Department of Health says 871 more Hoosiers tested positive for COVID-19 and 13 others have died from the virus.

All of the new positive cases were reported to state officials on Tuesday, while the new deaths occurred between Aug. 28 and Sept. 1.

Indiana now notes 95,750 confirmed COVID-19 infections and 3,106 deaths.

In Allen County, local health officials say another resident died from the virus and 54 others tested positive.

Allen County's 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals is at 10.2 percent, while the positivity rate statewide sits at 7.2 percent.

To date, 1,092,596 tests for unique individuals have been reported to the state, up from 1,083,765 on Tuesday.

According to data from the Regenstrief Institute, an estimated 72,391 Hoosiers recovered from the virus.
