UPDATED: FWPD arrests driver accused in morning hit-and-run

UPDATE (6:40 p.m.) - Police have arrested Brandee Johnson, the woman wanted in connection with the hit-and-run incident in this report. They said tips from the public helped lead to the arrest. Johnson is charged with three counts of criminal recklessness, one count of leaving the scene of a catastrophic injury, child endangerment, child neglect, driving while suspended.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne police are asking for your help tracking down a woman who is suspected in a hit-and-run crash that left a man fighting for his life.

Brandee Johnson, 28, is wanted on three outstanding warrants - one for OWI and two probation violations.

Just before 2 a.m. Friday, police were called to the Speedway gas station on Bluffton Road about a 911 hang up.

They found a man pinned between two vehicles. Medics rushed him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers believe the woman was at a gas pump, floored it, and then crashed into a man standing behind his vehicle on the lot.

Detectives believe the female driver of the suspect vehicle ran away from the scene before law enforcement arrived, leaving her injured toddler strapped in her car seat.
