Indiana reports 1,044 new COVID-19 infections; 17 additional deaths

INDIANA (WPTA21) - The Indiana State Department of Health reports 1,044 more Hoosiers tested positive for COVID-19 and 17 others died from the virus.

That brings Indiana's total number of confirmed infections to 97,884, and the death toll to 3,127.

The new positive cases occurred between Aug. 29 and Sept. 3, while the new deaths occurred between Aug. 3 and Sept. 3.

All of the positive cases, deaths and tests were reported to the state in the last 24 hours.

The state's 7-day positivity rate for unique individuals remains at 7.4 percent.

In Allen County, local health officials say three more residents have died from COVID-19 and 57 others tested positive for the virus.

To date, 1,117,427 tests for unique individuals have been reported to the state, up from 1,103,038 on Thursday.

The Regenstrief Institute reports an estimated 75,222 Hoosiers have recovered from the virus.
