Woman flees hit-and-run crash leaving man pinned between cars, baby in the back seat

GEN: Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Police said a woman ran away from a crash that left a man pinned between two vehicles and a baby in the car seat.

Just before 2 a.m. Friday, police were called to the Speedway gas station on Bluffton Road in reference to a 911 hang up.

Once there, police found a man pinned between two vehicles. Medics rushed him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe the female driver of the suspect vehicle ran away from the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Police haven't tracked her down at this point.

Officers believe the woman was positioned at a gas pump, floored it, and then crashed into the back of a man standing at the rear of his vehicle on the lot.

A baby was buckled up in a car seat in the woman's vehicle. Medics said the baby suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
