Woman shot in 2019 dies; Coroner rules her death a homicide

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A 49-year-old woman who was shot and gravely hurt in 2019 never really recovered from her injuries.

During the afternoon hours of June 23, 2019, Nichole Y. Paschall was shot multiple times at 4415 Oliver Street.

Two people were hurt in the gunfire.

Medics took her to a local hospital at the time. Once she recovered enough to be discharged, she was taken to a long-term rehabilitation facility.

Investigators said she has remained at the rehab center ever since.

On Sept. 8, workers found her unresponsive in her bed.

The Allen County Coroner's Office said she died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds.
