FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - An annual tradition at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo will not take place this year, as officials announced they will not hold their "Wild Zoo Halloween" event in October.
The zoo will, however, be open through the end of that month.
Zoo officials announced the decision on their social media sites Wednesday morning.
"Wild Zoo Halloween" has taken place after the end of the regular zoo season, offering a final opportunity to visit before the zoo completely closes until the following year.
It features themed days and special activities, including musical performances on selected dates.
Some attractions are closed, but many of the animals remain on public display for the event, and costumed visitors are able to collect treats at various stations throughout the zoo.
