FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Police arrested a driver wanted for several felony warrants after he led officers on a high-speed chase late Wednesday morning.

Fort Wayne Public Information Officer Chris Felton said it all began just after 11 a.m. when FWPD Gang and Violent Crimes officers tried to pull over a Jeep.

The driver refused to stop, and then led officers on a high-speed pursuit throughout southeast Fort Wayne.

About 10 minutes into the chase, police were able to put stop sticks on the road to slow down the Jeep.

Eventually the suspect came to a stop in a ditch in New Haven, and he bailed out of the car to continue to run on foot.

With the help of K9 officers and a drone, law enforcement spotted him in a field nearby.

The man is now in custody and is expected to face charges.

Two other people inside the vehicle were checked out by medical personnel and are not charged, police said.
