Railroad tracks

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WPTA21) - Numerous railroad crossings will be closed Wednesday and Thursday as construction work takes place on the tracks in Bluffton.

City officials said the affected crossings are at:

  • Silver Street
  • Wiley Street
  • South Street
  • Cherry Street
  • Washington Street
  • Market Street
  • Wabash Steet
  • Oak Street
  • Hale Street

Norfolk Southern crews are making line improvements between Muncie and Fort Wayne, prompting the closure.

Most of the crossings will be closed on both days.

State Road 116 will remain open and a temporary crossing will be placed at 200 South.

City leaders say emergency services will be able to navigate the construction to respond to all calls.
