Police make arrest in Sunday morning homicide after receiving multiple tips

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The Fort Wayne Police Department made an arrest in a homicide case after receiving multiple tips that they say helped them find the suspect in question.

FWPD arrested 31-year-old Ronald Williams.

Fort Wayne police initially went to 7900 Decatur Drive after receiving a call about a man outside with a gunshot wound. Then officers received another call just after 7 a.m. about a shooting inside an apartment at the Centennial Townhomes in the 7000 block of Serenity Drive.

The man was treated on scene for non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital.

Officers then found a woman inside the apartment with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

The woman's name will be released when the Allen County Coroner's Office makes a full report.
