Indiana notes 6,912 new cases of COVID-19; 63 Hoosiers lose their lives to the virus

INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA21) - The Indiana State Department of Health says 6,912 more Hoosiers tested positive for COVID-19 and 63 others lost their lives to the virus.

That brings the total number of infections statewide to 282,311 and the death toll to 4,952.

While all of the new deaths and positive cases were reported to state health officials in the past 24 hours, the new infections occurred between Oct. 26 and Nov. 19 while the new deaths occurred between Nov. 8 and Nov. 19.

In Allen County, local health officials reported seven additional deaths and 400 new COVID-19 cases.

The state's 7-day positivity rate stands at 12.1 percent.

To date, 2,030,938 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,009,763 on Thursday. A total of 3,785,422 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.

The Regenstrief Institute estimates 162,324 Hoosiers recovered from COVID-19.
