Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry prepares to serve more families after record year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - One of the many organizations dedicated to helping animals in Fort Wayne is celebrating receiving a grant from the Humane Society.

Volunteers with the Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry describe the need for free pet food last year as unlike anything they've seen before.

The food pantry served the families of more than 17,000 animals in 2020.

And volunteers tell ABC21 the Humane Society's $2,000 check will cover the cost of food for thousands of pets.

If you want to help the Fort Wayne Pet Food Pantry, its biggest need is for dry cat food.
