FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The pandemic has hit everyone differently, but that's not stopping Fort Wayne UNITED"s TenPoint Coalition from helping out in the local communities.
The organization was made back in 2018 with the goal to visit local neighborhoods to look at the areas crime, education, health, and housing and see if the community is in need of any help.
But when COVID-19 hit the organization felt like they could do more.
The coalition began holding resource drives that would collect and give needed resources such as food and sanitation supplies to those in need.
Organizers also spoke with people living in the communities they normally walk to see what they really needed at this time.
Many said that they needed food, but a lot of people said that they wanted to make sure they were safe during these times.
Organizers say that these talks have really opened up doors and brought them closer to the communities that they serve.
