Bicyclist dead after being struck by car

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a car on the Lima Road overpass over I-69, according to police.

Police say it happened around 8:44 p.m. Monday night. We're told a person on a bike crossed into traffic in the far right northbound lane and was hit by a car. The driver of the car remained on the scene and was not seriously injured.

Police are also investigating a hit and run accident that happened after the initial accident.

Police ask that you avoid the area.
