FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A council that trains and certifies businesses in cleaning and sanitation has given the War Memorial Coliseum high marks.
Coliseum management applied to have the Global Biorisk Advisory Council evaluate how well they're cleaning and disinfecting the building.
"This is the highest level of certification that's available and just demonstrating to our public that the Coliseum's a safe place to come out to," said Coliseum General Manager Randy Brown.
The Global Biorisk Advisory Council is a division of ISSA, a cleaning industry association.
The Coliseum earned GBAC's accreditation, which they call the "gold standard for prepared facilities."
"We just thought it was the right thing to do to demonstrate to the community that we are doing everything possible to provide a safe environment, but also to have a third party look at everything that we're doing and making recommendations. How can we be better? Just looking at all that. So I'm standing here, just as proud as I can be that we were able to achieve this certification," added Brown.
