FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - STAR Financial Bank is starting construction on a new mixed-use structure that will be home to its corporate headquarters.
The $43 million project is located at 215 W. Main Street across the street from the soon-to-be-open The Bradley hotel.
Currently named the "Ashberry project," the two-tower building will add a much-needed parking garage to downtown. Plans call for a 387-spaces to be included.
Designed by Hoch Associates and construction-managed by CMa Plus, crews will begin construction in the coming weeks. The building’s North Tower will have seven stories and will be just under 50,000 square feet. The South Tower will be a 20,000 square foot, three-story building with parking decks extended over the top of the third story.
The new buildings will be home to STAR Bank, a future Ash event venue, and Just CM, who are also investing partners in the project.
The City of Fort Wayne will be an invested partner in the public parking garage. Private, connected, underground parking will be available to residential condo owners of the recently renovated 202 Metro Building.
“If our father, who started STAR Bank nearly 78 years ago, were here today, I’m sure he would be extremely proud. Not only because we have organically grown to become a bank with more than $2.6 billion in assets, but because we are continually investing in the future of our great Hoosier communities,” Tom Marcuccilli, president of STAR Financial Group said.
The project has an estimated completion of early 2023.
