FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21)- One local mail carrier said delivering mail after all of the snow Tuesday was difficult.
"I've already been stuck four times today so yeah it's been trying and I've taken a couple of steps and ended up with snow up to my thighs so the weather's usually our biggest obstacle and today's been a big challenge," Brandy Schult said.
She says she couldn't drive on the side streets in her tuck and even had to park across the street at one stop and walk to the other side. She said it even took a while to leave the station.
"It took a little bit longer. We were all at the station longer because we had to wait to get all of our trucks out of the parking lot but it's just kind of been trial and error since then trying to figure out which streets we could go down which ones we couldn't or if we still deliver things or not," Schult said.
She says at one point her truck even got stuck in the snow, but some people nearby were able to help her out.
"Very nice people came and pushed me out so yes everyone's been very nice and waving and saying thanks for being out," Schult said.
She says that's what she loves about her job, meeting and creating relationships with people in ways she never thought would happen.
"I like getting to know the people on my route and seeing the kids out playing, and meeting the people who actually live there, It makes it different when you have that connection with the people instead of just looking at their names and addresses on the letters," Schult said.
