FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – An additional charge has been filed against the man police say is responsible for a crash that killed a pregnant woman and injured two firefighters after reports show he was under the influence of multiple substances.

27-year-old Kareem McPherson was arrested on Feb. 16 after police say he struck a fire truck while driving on Clinton Street Jan. 2, killing his pregnant passenger Kimetrice Lakeya Roby.

The newly-released toxicology report says the driver tested positive for THC, THC-COOH and Oxycodone-Free in his blood when the crash happened.

Initially, McPherson was facing charges of reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter, criminal mischief, criminal recklessness, and neglect of a dependent.

Now, a charge of causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance has been filed against him.
