Portion of Bass Road to be shut down into November

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - A new phase of construction on Bass Road will close a stretch of that roadway from this Monday through the coming fall.

Crews will be widening the road between Thomas and Hillegas, also adding a center turn lane and curbs.

A roundabout will be placed at the intersection of Bass and Thomas, replacing the current intersection there.

The marked detour will take drivers to Kroemer Road (which becomes Haeman Road), to Leesburg Road and then to Hillegas.

The closure is expected to last into early November.
