INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA21) -- The Lions mounted one last late-game comeback, but fell just short Saturday with a 50-49 loss to Silver Creek in the 3A state championship game.
After going scoreless through the first two quarters, Blake Davison led the Charger for the Lions, scoring all 20 of his points after halftime.
Davison was the only Lion in double-figures, but Zack Troyer had a big day on the boards, finishing with 15 rebounds.
Leo faced a few uphill climbs during the game, and trailed by 10 with five mintues left in the foruth quarter.
The Lions managed to draw within a point with 41 seconds left, but fell behind by three after some Silver Creek free throws.
Leo got it's final bucket on a layup from DJ Allen with four seconds left, but the clock ran out before the Dragons had to inbound the ball.
This season, Leo earned it's first ever regional and semi-state titles, earning it's first trip to the state championship. The Lions finish the year with a 24-5 record.
