FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- Bernard Pollard Jr. hasn't played in a NFL game since the 2014 season. Now he's determined to return to the league.
Pollard, 36, decided earlier this year that he would attempt this improbable comeback. For the past ten weeks, Pollard has undergone an intense workout regimen, trying to get his body back into 'game shape.'
Pollard says he has already been in contact with the Kansas City Chiefs, but doesn't expect to land on their roster. He has "feelers" out with a few other teams, and Pollard hopes he can find a team sooner, rather than later.
Pollard wants to go through a full off-season, so he wants to sign onto a roster as early as he can.
Pollard was a standout three-sport athlete at South Side. He went on to play at Purdue before making the jump to the NFL.
The Chiefs drafted Pollard in the 2nd round back in 2006. He would later play for the Texans, Ravens, and Titans during his initial nine-year run as a pro.
