Fort Wayne auto magnate dies

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The founder of O'Daniel Automotive Group, a car dealership empire in Northeast Indiana has died.

Family members acknowledged the death of Maurice (Maury) O'Daniel Friday evening, but did not reveal the cause of his death.

O'Daniel moved to Fort Wayne from Evansville in 1979 to launch O'Daniel Oldsmobile. He grew the business to include eight franchises.

The prominent businessman was also involved in charitable causes. He worked with Junior Achievement, Matthew 25 Health and Care among others.
