IMPD releases names of people killed in FedEx mass shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WPTA21) -- Indianapolis police have released the names of eight people tragically killed in a shooting at a FedEx facility Thursday night.

  2. Jasvinder Kaur, 64
  3. Amarjeet Johal, 66
  4. Jaswinder Singh
  5. Karli Smith, 19
  6. Matthew R Alexander, 32
  7. Samaria Blackwell, 19
  8. John Weisert, 74

Four of the victims are from the Sikh community according to Indianapolis Sikh community leader Gurinder Singh Khalsa.

"I have no words to express my condolences. Not just for my community, but for all eight victims who sacrificed their lives. It's a very painful day for everybody," Khalsa told ABC21.

According to police, 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole arrived at the facility after 11 p.m. and immediately started shooting in the parking lot and later entered the facility.

Police found Hole dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound when they entered the building.

At this time, police are still working to determine a motive for the shooting, but they did say Hole is a former employee at this FedEx facility.
