NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WPTA21) - A New Haven woman will appear in an Allen County courtroom Thursday following her arrest on six counts of child sex crimes -- several of them with aggravating factors.
Jeanina Lowe, 33, is accused of producing and distributing highly explicit photos and videos involving a 3-year-old child and another that appears to be younger than age 12.
The investigation began when a detective from Carmel contacted the New Haven Police Department regarding a reported relationship involving Lowe and a teenage boy who lives in the Carmel area.
The detective arranged to meet with Lowe at an Allen County restaurant.
There, according to a probable cause affidavit, a conversation included discussion of Lowe's participation in a chat group that the detective associated with child pornography.
The affidavit states that Lowe allowed a warrantless search of her phone, and later her home, which led to the discovery of photos and videos involving at least two young victims. The explicit description details sex acts with an adult or adults.
Investigators believe the images and videos were taken last November, and that some of them involve her in the sexual activity.
They said evidence strongly suggests they were produced in Lowe's bedroom.
The records also claim that Lowe expected "to receive $1,000 for each picture."
The affidavit notes: "The Defendant stated she just wanted to come clean with everything," and that she "did this for Fantasy."
Lowe's initial hearing is set for 8 a.m.
The charges include two counts of child molesting, two counts of child exploitation and two counts of possession of child pornography.
