FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) -- If you ask anyone on the Saint Francis baseball team about the weather they'd like to play in, they'll give you a similar answer: 75 and sunny.

Since they play in Fort Wayne, that doesn't happen too often.

Living and playing in the Midwest, the Cougars have to deal with all sorts of different weather, and every aspect of the forecast can impact the game of baseball.

Head coach Dustin Butcher said it takes a team effort to account for certain conditions.

"If it's windy, and a ball goes up in the air, you're counting on several different people to communicate," Butcher said. "Where the ball starts is definitely not where it's going to finish, so it's important that the communication is in sync and perfect."

Saint Francis players and coaches said they keep up to date on forecasts, as they plan ahead for what's next on their schedule.
