Steuben Co pickup vs semi

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA21) - An Angola woman was critically hurt on Tuesday in a crash between a pickup and a semi truck.

The accident happened at the crossroads of US 20 and CR 600 W in Steuben County about 9 a.m.

Marion Pocock, 53, was a passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche when it collided with a Kenworth semi-tractor trailer being driven by Jose Fregoso, a 54-year-old Florida man.

The driver of the pickup truck, 26-year-old Raymond Parks, of Kendallville, failed to yield the right of way, Steuben County Sheriff's investigators said.

The force of impact flipped the pickup truck.

Pocock was extradited from the wreckage and was taken by Samaritan helicopter to a hospital, where she was in critical condition.

Investigators said she had not been wearing a seatbelt.

The two drivers were both restrained and were not hurt.
