Kendallville Police investigating possible arson; asking public for help

Kendallville Fire 2021 (1)

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The Kendallville Police Department is asking for information about a fire that may have been intentionally set earlier this week.

According to Kendallville Police Chief Lance Waters, first responders were first called in around 2:40 a.m. Monday to a home in the 2100 block of Del Norte.

He said the damage was contained to a small outside portion of the home.

We're told a family was inside at the time, but they were able to get out safely.

Waters said investigators believe the fire may have been set intentionally due to the lack of any non-incendiary causes in the area.

Investigators are still looking at evidence collected from the scene.

If you have any information that could help police with this investigation, you can call Officer Pegan at 260-347-0654.
