Fort Wayne a Top 5 emerging housing market in new Wall Street Journal/ index


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The Fort Wayne housing market is an ideal choice for homeowners and for investors, according to a quarterly report issued by the Wall Street Journal and

The Emerging Housing Markets Index considers factors such as local economics and quality of life.

It ranks Fort Wayne third in the nation in its latest study, released on Tuesday.

Billings, Mont., is tops on the list, followed by Coeur d'Aelene, Idaho, then Fort Wayne.

Rapid City, SD, and Raleigh, NC, complete the Top 5.

Fort Wayne is the only Midwest community in the Top 10 positions of the index, which was launched earlier this year. In its first release, in the spring, Fort Wayne ranked 34th.
