SYRACUSE, Ind. (WPTA21)- Two women were sent to the hospital after a boat fire Saturday afternoon.
Dispatchers received the call around 2:55 p.m. Officers say the boat's two inboard engines caught on fire when the owner tired to start it after fueling it. The Syracuse Fire Department was able to contain the fire quickly before it sank.
They say the eight people on board were able to make it to shore safely. The two women were transported to Lutheran with second degree burns.
The incident remains under investigation.
