Mask rules take effect Tuesday at Fort Wayne city properties

MAYOR-HENRY-COVID-MASKS

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Visitors to Citizens Square, Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and other city-owned properties will need to mask-up beginning Tuesday.

Mayor Tom Henry announced last week that masks would be required -- regardless of vaccination status -- at all Fort Wayne-owned facilities, effective Sept. 7.

The rule also applies to Parks and Recreation pavilions and community and youth centers.

The decision to implement "mandatory masking" was announced along with an incentive program to encourage City employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Masks are required at Citizens Square and other City of Fort Wayne venues starting Sept. 7.
