Fort Wayne man facing federal charges stemming from Kendallville bank robbery

Lance Lombrana

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Federal prosecutors have charged a Fort Wayne man with armed robbery in connection with a late-August heist at a Kendallville credit union.

Lance Lombrana, 41, will be tried in U.S. District Court after Noble County prosecutors and the U.S. Attorney's Office decided to have the case filed in the federal system.

Lombara is accused of entering the Three Rivers Federal Credit Union on Aug. 30 and showing a teller a package that "appeared to be explosives with a timing device" on it.

They allege that Lombara demanded cash, which was provided to him.

Witnesses provided officers with a description of the vehicle that left the scene, and he was apprehended a short time later in Garrett.

Separately, Lombrana faces a felony charge of corruption in state court in Allen County.
