FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — FWPD says they have charged the man arrested in a hit-skip that killed a woman in August.
Police say the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 25 as the 21-year old woman was walking across East State Boulevard from a residence.
Police say the tan SUV, which was headed west, hit her.
They say the driver of the vehicle continued to drive west away from the scene and did not stop.

With the help of the community, police were able to arrest 52-year-old Samuel Eugene Lovellette.
At this time, police say he is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and obstruction of justice.
