UPDATE: Berne barricade ends peacefully

BERNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – A barricade situation in Berne has ended peacefully.

Police say Gregory Aguilar barricaded himself inside an apartment on Deborah Lane Tuesday evening saying he had a hostage – Russell Henry.

Officers say Aguilar threatened them with harm if they tried to enter the apartment.

Crisis negotiators surrounded the apartment as they tried to convince the men to come out.

One one point, officers brought dinner to one of the men holed up inside.

After several hours, the men came out peacefully.

Aguilar was taken to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries before he was booked into jail.

Henry was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant.
