Person seriously injured in Pittsburg St. shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – Officers are investigating after they say one person was shot east of downtown Tuesday afternoon.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the shooting happened in the 3000 block of Pittsburg Street around 3:59 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man inside a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was last listed in critical condition.

Witnesses tell police they saw two men walk up to the residence and knock on the front door before firing several gunshots. They ran away from the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
