FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – A new, eye-catching mural nears completion on the Hampton Inn being built outside Parkview Field.

The 3D mural is a symbol of the hotel embracing their new neighbors, the TinCaps.

Picture a player’s grand slam so strong, it smashes into the side of the new Hampton Inn building.

That’s what developers wanted a mural to replicate.

They commissioned local artist Tim Parsley to bring their idea to life.

Parsley has painted several murals across the city already, though this is the first “3D relief project” he’s worked on.

“Well, it’s a lot of fun to install a piece that’s, you know, reinforcing the energy Downtown and to be a neighbor to the TinCaps stadium,” Parsley tells us, “It’s a great place to come hang out with the family – our kids love to come here. It’s a fun thing to do down here and celebrate the ballpark.”

Parsley told ABC21 pop-up showers nearly ruined the painting just after he began, but with the help of crews nearby, it was saved.
