Man critically injured in motorcycle vs. car accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating after an accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle left the cyclist with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they were called to the scene of an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at Lafayette and Esmond Streets around 2:06 p.m. on Monday.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was reported to have life-threatening injuries.

Officers say that due to the nature of the injuries, the FACT team has been called to the scene to handle the crash investigation. No other information on the crash is currently available.

Lafayette Street was closed between Esmond and Boltz following the crash but has since been reopened.
