Man suffers life-threatening injuries after being hit by car

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA 21) — A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car near the intersection of Hanna Street and McKee Street early Sunday morning.

Police say that just before 2 a.m. a car was traveling south on Hanna when a man came running out onto the road and into the path of the car.

Police found the man lying on the street when they got to the scene.

The driver of the car and several other witnesses all stayed at the scene and were interviewed by detectives.

Officials said it has not yet been determined if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.

This is a developing story. We’ll provide updates when we get them from police.
