Winter storm warning issued for much of central, southern IN

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of central and southern Indiana this weekend.

It says total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches are expected between midnight Friday and 7 a.m. Sunday in portions of central, south central, southeastern, southwestern and west central Indiana. It says locally higher amounts of snowfall are possible.

The weather service says the snowfall will create hazardous travel conditions.

Indiana State Police announced they were towing vehicles parked along interstate highways to clear paths for snowplows and increase safety for motorists.?

Some high school sporting events scheduled for Saturday have been postponed.
