Police arrest man following Kendallville death investigation

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WPTA21) –Police are beginning to uncover the mystery surrounding the death of a Kendallville man that happened Wednesday.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Justin Rodman. He suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.

There were several people in the apartment at the time. Police believe Rodman was shot upstairs, fell downstairs and collapsed in the entryway.

20-year-old Logan DeWitt faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. The cause and manner of rodman’s death are still pending.

The prosecutor tells us they don’t believe DeWitt meant to aim at Rodman.
