Woman hit, killed by car on South Lafayette Street

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — A woman is dead after she was hit and killed by a car Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 7 pm Wednesday in the 7700 block of South Lafayette. When police arrived, they found a woman on the ground. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say the woman was running across four lanes of traffic, when she was hit by the car.

Northbound Lafayette from Anthony to Tillman was closed during the investigation.
