Son of Noble County Sheriff dies in Thursday evening crash

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA21) — State police are investigating a fatal crash that happened Thursday evening.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department said the crash happened around 6:53 in the 10000 block of County Road 415 North. The person calling 911 said a vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.

The driver was dead when police got to the scene. He was later identified as 30-year-old Andrew Harp. He was the son of Noble County Sheriff Douglas Harp and retired Noble County Sheriff’s Department Matron Renee Harp.

The Indiana State Police took up the investigation, which is ongoing as of the time of this report.
