One person in critical condition after shooting on city’s southeast side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – Police confirm that one person was shot on the city’s southeast side at the 4000 block of Wayne Trace.

It happened around 9 p.m. at the Three Fountains Apartments.

Our crew at the scene learned the homicide unit was on scene.

Calls came in for reports of gunshots and those on the phone told dispatchers they saw someone laying in the street.

Police say when they arrived on scene they found one, adult male, unconscious suffering form apparent gun shot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, and at last he check remains in critical condition.

Police say they have no suspect information at this time and are canvassing the apartment complex and talking to those who live there trying to find any possible witnesses.
