INDIANAPOLIS, (CNN/WISH) — Indiana authorities are looking for a US soldier accused of killing his wife and going AWOL.

It started back in late November. Police say Peter Van Bawi Lian attacked 27-year-old Khuang Par during an argument in Colorado Springs.

The 21-year-old soldier reportedly told her he was going to kill her. Lian was charged with assault after the attack.

Then on December 22nd, his wife went to pick him up from the airport. Police say that’s the last time she was seen alive.

According to court documents the next day her body was found stuffed in a suitcase in an apartment dumpster. Police say on that same day Lian caught a plane to Thailand.

Charges against Lian have been filed and the Army has officially declared him absent without leave (AWOL).
