Restaurant opening in Riviera Plaza hopes to cater to late-night crowds

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — A tiny restaurant in Fort Wayne is hoping for some large traffic from night-owls.

Chance Davis opened up Dawson’s Dogs Friday near the intersection of St. Joe Road and St. Joe Center Road. This restaurant is in the same family as the former Dawson’s Famous Coney Dogs on Lima Road. Davis’ parents told him that the location on St. Joe Road was available back in October. The next day he bought it.

Davis says he hopes to get good traffic from the late night bars. During the week, the restaurant will be open 11 am until 9 pm. While the exact dates are not set yet, Davis says the restaurant will most likely have late-night hours Thursday through Saturday from 1 am until 3:30 am. Davis says they don’t want to stop there.

“We want to get food trucks. We want to get concession trailers. We want to get more locations around town, hopefully around the country and possibly further than that,” Davis says.

All revenue from first days sale goes to Rescue Mission. They will be open until 9 pm. They are working on getting card payments at the location, but for at least the first day it is cash-only.
