Fort Wayne man convicted in Easter morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — One week after he ignored his lawyer’s advice to delay his trial a Fort Wayne man has been found guilty of murder.

A jury convicted Tyrion McNair of gunning down a man outside an apartment on Easter morning. The jury deliberated for about 4 hours.

Last week, a codefendant in the case, Joshua Smiley, took a plea deal in exchange for his testimony against McNair. The move prompted McNair’s attorney to ask for more time, but McNair told the judge he didn’t want any more delays.

McNair will be sentenced on February 1st.
