FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Customers will have to find a new diner as a Metro Diner location closed its doors for good Sunday night.
Employees with the diner confirm they were informed the Sunday shift would be the last. They were working on cleaning the closed diner on Monday. The company website no longer shows the Fort Wayne location.
Metro Diner opened its Fort Wayne branch in April 2018. It was one of a national chain to offer serious diner food from an extensive menu of traditional diner dishes.
Metro diner’s original location in Jacksonville Florida was featured on the Food Network program “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.” Since that 2010 appearance, a lot has changed.
There are now more than 70 locations in seven states. They still operate four locations near Indianapolis and a location in Granger.
