King Gyros owner dies following dementia and Alzheimers battle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — Funeral services are set for Friday for a well known local restaurant owner.

Steve Sakellariou, the owner of the King Gyro on Goshen Avenue in Fort Wayne, died on Monday following a battle with Alzheimers and dementia.

On the King Gyros Facebook page, the family asked that donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in lieu of flowers.

Friday’s service will be private and the restaurant will be closed much of that afternoon.
