Police looking for help identifying armed robbery suspect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – Detectives are looking for help identifying a suspect in two recent armed robberies.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the robberies happened on March 18 and March 27.

The March 18 armed robbery happened at the Burger Dairy located on Wells Street.

Witnesses told police a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and bag slung over his shoulder entered the store.

The witnesses say the man pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money from the register. The man ran away from the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

The March 27 armed robbery happened at Jays Mini Mart located on Wells Street.

Witnesses told police a man wearing all black clothing pushed his way to the counter before pointing a gun at the cashier and demanding money. The man ran away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as wearing black clothing, a black hat and black glasses. Witnesses told police he had a large gap between the front of his teeth.

When a K9 officer attempted a track it ended in the 500 block of the Alley between Fifth Street and Fourth Street.
