Man seriously injured in shooting on Plaza Dr.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) — One man is in serious condition after a shooting on Plaza Dr. Wednesday evening.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of Plaza Dr. just after 6 p.m. on reports of gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, they could not find a victim, but did find shell casings on the street.

Minutes later a man walked into the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Police tell ABC21 they were able to connect the victim in the hospital to the scene on Plaza Dr. They identified the man as Andrew Rogan.

Police say Rogan was walking on Pettit Avenue, a few blocks away from the Plaza Dr. scene, when a Burgundy Mazda or an Infiniti car drove by and opened fire. Rogan then ran home and was taken to the hospital.

He would not provide police with any additional information.

After spending hours at the scene, police took one person into custody on an unrelated warrant out of Huntington County.

Police received a search warrant and searched a house on the 5400 block of Plaza Dr. they believe is connected to the shooting.
